Eyecessorize Reaches Social Media Milestone

Alexandria, VA (September 24, 2013) - Eyecessorize, The Vision Council's campaign to increase awareness of the fashion and lifestyle aspects of eyewear, recently achieved a social media milestone today, surpassing the 100,000 likes mark on its official Facebook page (facebook.com/eyecessorize).

The fashion eyewear page has been growing steadily since launching in October 2008. During this year alone, it has garnered more than nine million impressions and nearly 6,000 interactions.

The multi-faceted Eyecessorize campaign has developed into a phenomenal source for consumers to become educated about fashion eyewear trends and the latest products in our industry, said Steve Rappoport, chair of The Vision Council's Marketing and Communications Committee and president of L'Amy America. I am so proud of Eyecessorize's most recent accomplishment, and I only expect more growth and milestones from the campaign in the months and years to come.

To help bridge the gap between the runway and real life, the Eyecessorize Facebook page offers its fans an inside look at each season's hottest eyewear trends, with everything  from new and noteworthy frames, to face-fitting and makeup tips, to eyewear-clad celebrities. The page provides users with an opportunity to become well-versed in the fashionable world of eyewear and, furthermore, to share that knowledge with their friends, families, colleagues, patients and customers.

In addition to Facebook, Eyecessorize utilizes several other social media platforms: Twitter (twitter.com/eyecessorize), Pinterest (pinterest.com/Eyecessorize), Tumblr (eyecessorize.tumblr.com) and Instagram (@eyecessorize). The Eyecessorize blog (eyecessorizeblog.com)-which features product releases, celebrity sightings, popular eyewear trends and much more-has been well received by both members and consumers, and has become a flagship of sorts for the campaign with a strong, consistent readership. This year, the blog has already received nearly 89,000 page views.
