New Format Announced for Executive Summit

Alexandria, VA (November 11, 2009)Responding to feedback from members, The Vision Council is pleased to announce a new format for this year’s annual Executive Summit. The meeting will feature expanded opportunities for participant interaction, small group discussions and peer networking. The Summit, held January 27-29, 2010, at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club in Aventura, Fla., offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for optical industry executives to share ideas and get a clear picutre of the industry and where it is heading.

This year’s format includes two keynote speakers, Geoffrey Colvin of Fortune and William Taylor of Fast Money, who will address how to leverage the upside of the economic downturn. Breakout speakers Ruth P. Stevens of Columbia Business School and Ira Blumenthal, international business development expert, will speak on the relevance of trade shows and strategic partnerships.

An interactive panel discussion on corporate responsibility will be held, as well as breakfast roundtables and daily “cabana chats” that offer casual small group access to the speakers. In addition, attendees will also have the opportunity to network at an opening reception, a golf outing and the chairman’s dinner.

Among the attendees there is a wealth of experience and knowledge about our industry,” said Mike Hundert, chair of The Vision Council’s Program Committee which plans the event. “We will seek to engage each other in an effort to help each individually and all of us collectively to become better at what we do.”
