2006 Brings 46 New Members to the Organization

Washington, D.C. (January 12, 2007) – The Vision Council of America (VCA) is pleased to announce the addition of four new members to the organization. Centennial Optical will participate in the Eyewear and Accessories Division, Aearo Company in the Lab Division, Advanced Medical Optics in the Supplier Division and Assist Vision (Times Corp.) in the Low Vision Division.

“We are happy to welcome these members into the organization and offer them tools to help grow their businesses,” noted Ed Greene, VCA CEO. “VCA not only provides services and programs to increase its members’ bottom line, but also serves as a forum for manufacturers to come together and address the issues facing their segment of the vision industry.”

Membership in VCA is comprised of seven divisions: Eyewear and Accessories, Lab Lens, Lens Processing, Low Vision, Supplier and Trade. VCA’s divisions have shown their dedication to the industry and have launched multiple programs to help improve eyewear and eyecare. Through continuing education courses, consumer magazines, media outreach and standards development, the divisions have made a significant contribution to the vision industry.

VCA added a total of 46 new members to the organization in 2006, expanding growth in all divisions and bringing total membership to 239.
