Functional Components

Cable Temples: Cable or "curly" temples hook around the ear to prevent frames from slipping. Most metal frames can be fitted with cable temples.

Rubber/Grip-Tip Temples: Rubber temples are often found in safety glasses and sports sunglasses. They keep frames in place, even with heavy perspiration, and cushion the area above the ear.

Spring-Loaded Hinges: Frames with spring-loaded hinges are less prone to breakage. Their flexibility also keeps sunglasses from losing their shape.

Silicone Nose Pads: Nose pads made with silicone are soft and flexible. The translucent pads conform gently to the skin for added comfort.
