COLA represents full-service optical labs from California and other Western states. This committee, which hosts an annual Spring Meeting featuring the latest industry updates and educational sessions, provides scholarships throughout the year to optometry schools in California, and donates its time and money to charitable organizations.

Communicating the importance of vision care and vision care products to the public is a priority for The Vision Council. Through media relations, marketing and advertising campaigns, online outreach, special events and partnerships, The Vision Council makes sure that all consumers hear about the importance of taking care of their vision and are educated about the variety of eyewear options available to them.

The Vision Council's Lab Division is working to raise the tide for the industry at large with its "One pair won't work" campaign, aimed at driving the sales of multiple pairs. The campaign utilizes poster displays, dispensing table displays and job stuffers to encourage patients to talk to their eyecare provider about the need for multiple pairs, and ultimately purchase multiple pairs of frames with different lenses to meet their unique eyewear needs and complement their lifestyles.
