The Vision Council Announces Speaker Lineup, Hot Topics for its Annual Executive Summit

Alexandria, VA (August 8, 2018) – The Vision Council announced today that registration is now open for its 2019 Executive Summit, to be held Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 2019, at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes in Orlando, Fl. This year's event, themed "Contagious Leadership – Strategies for Cultivating People While Producing Business Results," will feature the following new noteworthy guest speakers: expert on the topic of "Conscious Capitalism" Jeff Cherry; and author of the top 20 business leadership book Multipliers Liz Wiseman. Back by popular demand, well-known economist Brian Beaulieu will conclude the Executive Summit with a special presentation.

"The Vision Council's Executive Summit is an exclusive event filled with executive-level networking, leadership development, and lessons from industry leaders on the latest economic trends and business strategies," says Ashley Mills, CEO of The Vision Council. "The 2019 program will tackle a theme of leadership in a unique and compelling way by weaving in concepts from key thought leaders on the topic, as well as tapping into the collective wisdom of the optical industry through engaging and provocative workshops."

The Executive Summit will once again serve as the backdrop for The Vision Council's annual Business Meeting, during which the organization will recognize the contributions of its Board of Directors and its many Committee volunteers, elect new members of the Board, and receive an update from Mike Hundert, chairman of the Board. All operating Divisions of the organization, including the newly formed Optical Retail Division, will hold break-out meetings designed to help them tackle Division-specific issues. In addition to other various Committee meetings and events, the Executive Summit provides an opportunity for the organization to bring together the members of its newly formed Emerging Optical Leaders Committee to interact with fellow attendees and participate in mentoring opportunities.

"The Executive Summit is the annual opportunity for those who run companies in our business to join with other leaders to compare notes and devise solutions to the challenges that each and all of us face," says Hundert. "Those discussions elevate leadership, move companies and impact an entire industry. Be part of the conversations that will expand your network, broaden your vision and hone your perspectives."

As an extra incentive for those looking to jumpstart their calendar year with countless fresh ideas and ample opportunities for networking, Transitions Academy 2019 will take place immediately following the Executive Summit Feb. 3-6 at the adjoining JW Marriott Grande Lakes. "Both of these must-attend events are about cultivating shared success for the industry," says Catherine Rauscher, global director of business innovation for Transitions Optical, Inc.
