Reopeneyecare.com, the recently launched digital platform sponsored by The Vision Council and designed to help eyecare providers navigate the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on their businesses, posted an industry data snapshot on the website’s homepage this week regarding the national revenue trend as practices begin reopening. Provided by The Vision Council member company and ReopenEyecare.com partner GPN Technologies, the data indicates that year-to-date revenue has decreased by 21 percent. The data also reveals revenue fell from July 28, 2019 by seven percent and declined from the previous week, July 19–July 25, 2020, by two percent.

The website will be updated on a weekly basis with more timely trends and useful data. Additionally, ReopenEyecare.com also recently introduced new website capabilities, including a pop-up questionnaire which appears when the website homepage is launched, allowing eyecare providers to personalize their website experience and curate the available content according to their specific business needs, and an expanded search function on the homepage that allows website users to ask specific questions to quickly locate information.
