New Report Examines Health Implications, Prevention of Digital Eye Strain
A new report released by The Vision Council reveals that nearly 70 percent of U.S. adults experience digital eye strain while on devices such as computers, tablets and smartphones. Yet, almost half of adults don't know how to or have never tried to reduce their visual discomfort. The report, DigitEYEzed: The Daily Impact of Digital Screens on the Eye Health of Americans, identifies causes and symptoms, and includes recommendations to help prevent or lessen digital eye strain. California Green Chemistry Initiative
On Oct. 1, California implemented a law whereby companies that manufacture certain consumer products may have to research safer product options (i.e., less toxic or nontoxic ingredients). Starting in April 2014, California - through its California Safer Consumer Products Law, also known as the Green Chemistry Initiative - will be identifying classes of consumer products and directing manufacturers of those products to look to reformulate them using green chemistry.
